1、 Reaction mechanism
In the state of high temperature, airtight and oxygen free, silicone rubber mainly undergoes the thermal rearrangement and degradation of the main chain, that is, depolymerization reaction, which makes the products soft (or soften), so as to lose the mechanical strength and use value. In the high temperature and oxygen environment, the oxidation of polymer side groups mainly occurs to form alkyl radicals, and the coupling reaction of free radicals leads to the increase of the sealed cross chain density, which makes the products gradually harden and even crack (called hardening).
Adding rare earth heat-resistant agent to silicone rubber can prevent the oxidative crosslinking and cyclization degradation of polysiloxane side chain. In a certain temperature range, it can prevent the free radical reaction due to oxidation in silicone rubber, and can be regenerated under the action of oxygen in the air; it can play a role of thermal stability for silicone rubber by absorbing some trace acids or alkaline substances in silicone rubber that can catalyze the degradation reaction. At the same time, the special electronic structure of rare earth heat-resistant agent (F-layer is not full) makes it easy to form complexes. The formed complexes inhibit the swelling of rubber in solvent by preventing the chain segment movement of rubber molecules, thus improving the oil resistance of rubber.
2、 Product features
① Controlling the surface activity of the rare earth heat-resistant agent can make the rare earth heat-resistant agent have good oxygen absorption ability, thus effectively inhibiting the oxidation of the side chain.
② By controlling the particle size and surface characteristics of the rare earth heat-resistant agent, it can make the rare earth heat-resistant agent and silicone rubber have good affinity, which is conducive to the full mixing of the rare earth heat-resistant agent in silicone rubber.
